Take the first step towards earning your wings in our comfortable club environment with the benefit and safety assured by a licenced and highly regarded flight training center.  If you’ve ever dreamed of being a pilot or just want to have a go at the controls an aeroplane, you’ve come to the right place.

You will be taking to the air in a modern light aircraft maintained to the highest safety standards specified by the CAA. Bag a bargain in a two seater Cessna 152 or take family or friend along in a 4 seater Piper Warrior or Cessna 172. Lessons in aircraft with four seats cost more, but it does mean you can usually invite someone to join you as a back seat passenger for your first flight.

Flying lessons don’t cost a fortune

Learning to fly isn’t cheap and you may be wondering just how much flying lessons cost. Well, with our introductory flights, you can get airborne for less than you think. If a quick zip up into the sky in a Cessna suffices, then you can grab yourself a trial lesson, (which actually counts towards a pilots licence!) for a remarkably low price. Here at Andrewsfield, all our packages include a through pre-flight briefing on aircraft operation and safety as well as providing you with the opportunity to take the controls for yourself!

Trial lesson are flexible and can as long or a short as you like – If you want more time to soar the skies you can book a full hour – prefer a shorter experience? Try a shorter 30-minute lesson. Whatever flight duration you choose, there will always be time for you to have a go at controlling the plane for yourself as well as to ask any questions you have.

For prospective pilots we can assist with planning and implementing future plans to obtain a full licence and can answer any question you have about the process on the day.

What happens on your flying lesson

Our experiences begin with a full briefing, during which the flight will be explained, and well take any questions you have. Then, after an aircraft walkaround and checkout, it’s into the cockpit for the pre-flight checks.

After start up (at this point you’ll understand why you’re wearing an intercom headset – it can be pretty noisy in these small planes), it’s time to taxi to the runway. Your instructor will handle the take-off and landing, so you can just relax and enjoy the vire! Once the delicate matter of taking off has been completed and you’re out of your initial climb, it’s your chance to shine on these flying lessons. As you utter those immortal words ‘I have control’ it will be you handling the plane.
